INFINITI VISION SYSTEM
Alcon Laboratories, Inc.
K The Infiniti Vision System allows ophthalmologists to provide customized treatment to each patient. Alcon says unparalleled fluidics deliver enhanced stability and surgical control. A low compliant Fluidic Management System (FMS) decreases post-occlusion surge. An exclusive Irrigation Pressure Sensor detects and adjusts to changing intraocular conditions and allows customized acquisition of nuclear tissue
The newly introduced OZil Torsional handpiece uses ultrasonic oscillations to efficiently remove all lens densities while greatly reducing repulsion and increasing thermal safety. The AquaLase Liquefaction device can be used on soft-to-medium-density cataracts to safely "wash away" lenses while optimizing capsular safety.
The Infiniti Vision System micro-coaxial lens removal technologies combine to offer the efficiency and chamber stability required for this emerging surgical horizon.

SOVEREIGN AND SOVEREIGN
COMPACT
AMO
AMO's Sovereign System with WhiteStar ICE offers customization and intuitive functionality. A patented system of microprocessors digitally monitors anterior chamber conditions and detects pressure variations at the phaco tip, responding instantaneously virtually eliminating post occlusion surges, says AMO.
WhiteStar ICE technology provides efficient use of ultrasonic energy for increased cutting power without increasing energy. CASE (Chamber Stabilization Environment) technology optimizes fluidics during cataract removal while significantly reducing surge on occlusion break.
The Sovereign Compact system, featuring the advanced fluidic performance of the Sovereign in a compact, affordable system, also offers WhiteStar Technology. This dramatically reduces the amount of phaco energy directed into the eye while still providing full ultrasound cutting efficiency. Nuclear fragments are drawn safely and efficiently to the phaco tip, a phenomenon called "magnetic" followability. The result is visibly clearer corneas on the first post-op day without changing technique.

MILLENNIUM
Bausch & Lomb
The Millennium Microsurgical System incorporates dual linear technology. This technology provides simultaneous, independent control of aspiration and ultrasound.
The Millennium also lets you use phaco burst mode, and features software-enhanced power modulation, programmable pulse width range, and linear control of burst interval, with the "lowest ultrasound frequency available" (28.5 kHz).

SONIC WAVE
PHACOEMULSIFICATION SYSTEM
STAAR Surgical Company
The Sonic WAVE fragments lenses while operating in the sonic (40-500 Hz) frequency range which uses up to 1,000 times less energy than standard ultrasound effectively preventing corneal burns, says STAAR. Switching between sonic and traditional ultrasonic modes is accomplished through the footswitch. Excellent anterior chamber stability at all vacuum levels, even as high as 500 mmHg, can be achieved when using the Cruise Control filtering device coupled with STAAR Surgical's patented PeriVent and Auto-Correlation fluidics, says STAAR. The efficiency of the auto-tuning handpiece eliminates the need for recalibration.

TEKNIQUE DIAGNOSTIC LENS SET
CYNACON/OCuSOFT
|
Each lens is visibly tinted for easy identification. |
CYNACON/OCuSOFT introduces TeKnique, a PMMA diagnostic lens set. TeKnique has been specifically designed to aid in determining the estimated true corneal power of an eye that has undergone corneal refractive surgery. In conjunction with the Contact Lens Method, recently transferred into a formula by Kenneth J. Hoffer, M.D., the set specifically addresses the problem of determining the true optical central power of the cornea. The method is based on the idea that refractive surgery has changed the corneal power and that the refractive change must be added to the pre-surgical power of the cornea in order to estimate its present power; reducing complications of post-operative hyperopic refractive results.
