DigitalOptometrics announced the launch of what the company has called the world’s first autonomous slitlamp with remote control capabilities at Vision Expo East 2025 in Orlando, Florida.
In collaboration with SlitLED, DigitalOptometrics will demonstrate the autonomous slitlamp featuring SlitLED’s advanced AutoAquire, RemotePilot, and Multi-Slit views, the company said in a press release. The slitlamp offers optometrists and eye-care professionals the ability to acquire ultra-high resolution, whole-cornea, and anterior segment images with sharp quality, including detailed views of the conjunctiva and lens. The autonomous slitlamp allows a staff member or remote doctor to capture images and video with the touch of a button, replicating traditional complete anterior segment evaluations while enabling reliable, repeatable results without requiring specialized training, the company said.
Some of the key features of the autonomous slitlamp include:
- AutoCapture, AutoFocus & Multi-Slit Views: Enhanced imaging technology enables the capture of detailed images in a fraction of a second, ensuring precision diagnostics.
- Ultra-High Resolution Imaging: High-quality results that deliver repeatable visualizations of the eye and precision analysis.
- Remote Review Flexibility: As if physically on-site with the patient, doctors can review post-capture images with sharp detail, utilizing features such as zoom, slit control, and side-by-side comparison with previous visits.
- Customizable Protocols: The system comes with preset acquisition protocols, or custom presets defined by the clinic, optimizing workflow and efficiency.
At Vision Expo East, attendees are invited to visit the DigitalOptometrics booth for an exclusive preview and demonstration of the autonomous slitlamp. The company said attendees can also schedule a private demo at Vision Expo East.
