OptymEdge announced in a press release a strategic collaboration with Streetlab to expand the use of virtual reality for real-life functional vision assessments in regulated clinical trials. According to the press release, the collaboration brings together the complementary services of both companies—OptymEdge provides leadership in standardized visual function endpoints, including best-corrected visual acuity assessment, global examiner training, certification, and operational delivery, while Streetlab brings its expertise in real-life functional vision and mobility testing.

By joining forces, OptymEdge and Streetlab enable sponsors and CROs to incorporate meaningful, patient-relevant functional vision measures alongside traditional endpoints—strengthening trial design without compromising regulatory rigor, the company said in the press release. 

The 2 organizations, through defined and independent service offerings, will create practical and scalable pathways for integrating functional vision endpoints into global, regulated studies, the company said.
