Prevent Blindness is set to launch its 2026 Focus on Eye Health Webinar Series on May 19, introducing a yearlong program centered on the theme “Powering Partnerships to Advance Eye Health.”
The series will feature 4 webinars throughout 2026, bringing together patient advocates, public health organizations, health care professionals, policymakers, educators, and community health groups. According to the organization, the initiative is designed to strengthen collaboration across sectors, improve access to vision and eye health services, and highlight policy and systems-level approaches to eye care. The 2026 format replaces the group’s previous 1-day Focus on Eye Health Summit.
“The Prevent Blindness Focus on Eye Health Webinar Series provides panelists and attendees a unique opportunity to learn about local, national, and global efforts to strengthen vision and eye health programs, and to discuss policies, challenges, best practices, and opportunities to become involved in advancing equitable access to eyecare,” said Jeff Todd, president and CEO of Prevent Blindness.
The first webinar, scheduled for May 19 from 2 to 3:30 PM ET, is titled “Vision Policy Across the Lifespan.” The roundtable will examine policy priorities affecting eye health at different life stages, including pediatric vision initiatives such as the Early Detection of Vision Impairments for Children Act, as well as chronic disease management and vision care access for working-age adults and older populations.
Participants include representatives from several organizations and advocacy groups, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Public Health Association Vision Care Section, the Alliance for Patient Access, and the ITEM Coalition.
The second webinar in the series, “Collaborative Solutions for Expanding Eye Care Access in Special Populations,” is scheduled for August 6 from 2 to 3:30 PM ET. Additional sessions are currently in development. All webinars will be available for later viewing on Prevent Blindness’ YouTube channel.
The series is offered at no cost. Registration information and additional details are available here.
