Virtual Field, known for virtual reality visual field technology in eye care, has announced the release of Dicom 360 Sync, a connectivity hub that is designed to automate and streamline diagnostic data exchange across clinical systems. The new platform delivers instant, automatic, and accurate interoperability from patient setup through report synchronization and chart attachment, eliminating manual uploads and reducing workflow inefficiencies. It introduces 3 real-time automation capabilities that connect diagnostics directly with electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) systems:
-
Realtime Modality Worklist: Instantly pulls patient data and exam orders from EMR/EHR systems to eliminate manual setup.
-
Realtime Report Sync: Automatically sends finalized reports back to the EMR/EHR immediately after testing.
-
Realtime Match & Attach: Ensures each exam is linked to the correct patient record to reduce compliance risks and prevent misfiles.
According to the company, Dicom 360 Sync has already shown measurable gains in real-world clinics, including the following:
-
Time savings of several minutes per exam, which increases patient throughput;
-
Improved workflow efficiency, which allows staff to focus on patient interaction;
-
Accurate interoperability prevents lost reports and retests; and
-
Enhanced experience for both patients and staff, with shorter wait times and reduced burnout.
Dicom 360 Sync became available September 22, 2025 and is included in Virtual Field’s Pro package.
