At Vision Expo East, DigitalOptometrics introduced a new fully automated, remote-powered 4K digital slit lamp integrated into a tele-ophthalmic care platform. In a press release, DigitalOptometrics said the introduction of automated, repeatable slit lamp examinations is part of the company’s remote care ecosystem and is made possible through a new partnership with Eyoto.

According to DigitalOptometrics, by integrating Eyoto’s Aetheia automated digital slit lamp technology into the DigitalOptometrics platform, clinics can perform reliable, standardized slit lamp exams under remote physician oversight, without adding complexity or increasing staff training burdens, while also addressing workflow bottlenecks in anterior segment exams, and inconsistency across multi-site practices.

The exam remains in the clinic, preserving established care pathways while enhancing them through automation and remote collaboration. This remote care model supports ophthalmologists and optometrists with dependable data, optimized workflows, and ensures that each exam meets a consistent clinical standard, DigitalOptometrics said in the press release.
